WAEC Commerce Tutor

I taught commerce for a class of student preparing for their senior secondary certificate examination at Morning star groups of school Auchi Edo state as a volunteer teacher between January 2015 to May 2015.

During my period as a volunteer teacher, I was able to understand that the major challenge student face during examinations is not as a result of lack of knowledge of the subject they want to sit for in the examination, rather it lack of understanding the subject due use of language.

What I did as a commerce teacher, was to bring the subject into my student everyday life. I make them see the fact that commerce was part of their everyday lives. From the simple buying and selling at their backyard, to the barber on the next Street providing hair cut service.

This simple method help shift the understanding of student concerning the subject. I also let my student understand that they would get a better understanding of the subject if they pay a close attention to their environment.
