Upper Primary Math Tutor
Home tutor in Kosofe, Lagos
Three of ten Nigerian children will tell you Maths is a very difficult subject. To me you can't really fault them because it takes a very patient tutor to help a child understand that maths is actually easy, all the child needs is to understand the concept and boom it becomes fun and they want to solve maths all day long.
Before teaching the subject, I would first see what type of child I'm dealing with because all children have different learning methods. If the child is one that requires visual aid, the approach would be different from a child that does not. Then, I break down the concept in such a way that no matter the angle the question comes on that subject, the child would be able to answer. Different worksheet would be created to better help teach the child and I don't move to another topic until I'm very sure the child understands what is been taught.

To some, teaching is a job or a profession, but to me teaching is a passion. There is joy derived when I see a concept or knowledge impacted on a pupil and they grasp it immediately.
I am a graduate of Geography from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife. I finished with a second class lower degree and did my youth service corp in Zamfara State in 2014-2015. It was during this period I discovered my passion for teaching.
After NYSC, I started teaching primary one pupils at Presidency international school, Ikorodu. I did this for two terms and was asked to teach year five which I did for a session. I left Presidency school to join Living legacy school also at Ikorodu. Change they say is a constant thing; I left Ikorodu and joined Treasure House school.
What i learnt over time is before you can help a child, the child has to trust you. if a pupil/child doesn't like a teacher, knowledge cannot be passed on no matter how simple the concept is. over the years, i ensured my pupils are my friends which in turn makes teaching the pupil an easy task.
