Experienced Check point Exam English tutor
I have been a Cambridge Checkpoint English teacher for about five months now, and it has been a fulfilling experience educating students on how to master the intricacies this curriculum.
The curriculum is centered mainly on the following modules:
In Reading and Writing, text types and structures are the main focus. Students are taught in the preliminary to identify features of various text types (Information, Instruction, Argumentative, etc). Learning is consolidated with engaging them in the practical aspects of writing samples of these texts.
Appropriate uses of the fourteen (14) punctuation marks in English are also highly in focus. To consolidate learning, students are given text passages devoid of punctuations and instructed to apply punctuation where appropriate.
Multiple lettered high frequency words for Vocabulary and Spelling are also in focus. In building their vocabulary capacity, students are expected to spell, learn the dictionary meanings, use in context of these words.

I am English graduate from the University of Uyo and currently reside in Abuja - FCT.
Over the past six years, I have enjoyed a fulfilling and rewarding career as an English teacher, tutoring various KS1 and 2 year groups in the British and Nigerian curriculums.
I have also tutored KS 3 and A levels students in preparing for the Cambridge Checkpoint IGCSE exams and the American Scolastic Aptitude Test( SAT) with remarkable results.
I am passionate about writing, and am keen to pass on my knowlegde in this area to youngsters who might find it a bit challenging.
I am delighted to be a part of this community of teachers and look forward to commencing tutoring engagements.
