Upper Primary English Tutor
Home tutor in Asokoro, Abuja
Most of the experiences I have acquired in Upper Primary English have been mostly from home tutoring and with brilliant results. Upper Primary English is basically a progression from Lower Primary English in both the Nigerian and British curriculums. The modules for Upper Primary English Language are similar to Lower Primary English with focuses on:
English Comprehension: Identifying the main idea, themes and figures of speech as well as making inferences, and themes.
Grammar and Punctuation: Use of appropriate punctuation marks like commas and quotation marks in writings and use of tenses (present, past and future).
Spelling and Vocabulary: Spelling high frequency with multiple string letters, finding their dictionary meanings, and using same in the right context in sentence constructions.
Writing: Separating ideas into paragraphs, and the use of quotation marks in recounting stories.
Pupils are engaged in lots of practical tasks to consolidate of their learning.

I am English graduate from the University of Uyo and currently reside in Abuja - FCT.
Over the past six years, I have enjoyed a fulfilling and rewarding career as an English teacher, tutoring various KS1 and 2 year groups in the British and Nigerian curriculums.
I have also tutored KS 3 and A levels students in preparing for the Cambridge Checkpoint IGCSE exams and the American Scolastic Aptitude Test( SAT) with remarkable results.
I am passionate about writing, and am keen to pass on my knowlegde in this area to youngsters who might find it a bit challenging.
I am delighted to be a part of this community of teachers and look forward to commencing tutoring engagements.
