About

I'm a second class honours (upper division)  graduate of Guidance and counseling at the University of Ilorin. I'm an enthusiastic and motivated individual with dynamic interpersonal and administrative strengths and a background in student support, advisement, and relations, I've  Successfully advised and counselled students from diverse cultural and geographic backgrounds to encourage academic / personal achievement and advancement while simultaneously tackling and overcoming emotional problems. With strong inner motivation and superior communication talents, I excelled at tutoring students in major subjects areas (English language, Civic Education, Literature, Economics and Government) as well as advising students on program / career selection, assisting those struggling with challenges at home or at school, and connecting effectively with a broad range of students. During my time as the school counselor, I've also provided individual and group counseling sessions to students ages 14-20 regarding career development, academic achievement, social behavior, and mental and physical health. I gained experience working with students with disabilities, as well as providing crisis counseling to students who have recently experienced a trauma. I successfully implemented programs to increase graduation rates as well as college application rates and Interacting regularly with parents, teachers, school staff, and other individuals relevant to each student to deliver ongoing updates and ensure “same-page” mentality on addressing student issues. I pride myself on my ability to strengthen relationships and decrease conflicts between peers through the introduction of anti-bullying, peer mentoring, and conflict resolution initiatives.
