Common Entrance English Tutor

Teaching English language has been a life long passion for me and this has birthed the need to recreate this passion in my pupils. As a Common Entrance English tutor, my focus is on the curriculum of study that the examination is centred on. The pupil is prepped for the upcoming exams according to the standard required and in such a manner that he or she is assured of excellence.

I have a track record of helping students achieve success and your child will not be an exception because emphasis will be placed on his or her areas of weakness so as to translate those areas to strengths.

In my opinion, no child has a learning challenge; they only have teachers who are yet to understand them. In my work as a tutor, I have come across several categories of students, some of whom are enthusiastic learners and others who are less so. I see teaching as being about how well the tutor is able to make learning interesting for the student because the key to success is engagement.

I believe the purpose of this adventure is to produce proficient English speakers and grammar enthusiasts, therefore this drives my aim to achieve results.

About

I am a graduate of English and Literature and I have taught English as a subject for over 3 years.

The English language has been a life long passion for me. While growing up, I was a voracious reader and developed a high vocabulary at a very young age. I went ahead to study the subject as a course at the university where I graduated with a Second Class Upper degree.

My adventures as a tutor of the English language has been rewarding. I started out with the State Agency for Mass Education, Abakiliki in 2012 as a tutor and student coordinator and this gave me my first official foray into the world of teaching. Ever since then, it has been one rewarding experience after another. I have watched my students do well in their examinations and it has made me a proud teacher.

My tutoring methods are simple and easy to understand because I believe in making learning as uncomplicated as possible for the student. In order to achieve this, I intend to keep it simple and easy by employing the tools of visual aid, positive reinforcement and relying on feedback gotten from my students.

Lastly, I try to keep my students engaged and eager to learn, so I try not to get boring in my teaching.

I believe the purpose of this adventure is to produce proficient English speakers and grammar enthusiasts, therefore this drives my aim to achieve results.
