About

My name is Afeez. I am a Second Class Upper Division graduate in Biochemistry from the University of Agriculture Abeokuta.

I have experience teaching Basic Science and Chemistry to both primary and secondary school students respectively.

I have also successfully prepared students for GCE, WAEC, and JAMB in Mathematics and Chemistry.

In my view, students both succeed and struggle for a variety of individual and unique reasons and, consequently. It is always important to take my approach from evaluating and reflecting on the learning style of my students.

In my experience however, success can often be achieved by bringing complex subjects back to their fundamentals. This allows for the effective identification of issues in understanding and builds an enduring sense of confidence upon which my students can develop.

I try to combine this general approach with an engaging attitude, a high expectation of independent and creative work, and finally a supportive, knowledgeable environment for error and development.

When working towards specific examinations and entrance tests, it is key to make additional extensive use of the relevant content syllabus, exam reports and mark scheme to familiarize my students with effective strategies for achieving success

I think students perform the best when they are the most engaged in what they are learning. When they can connect their learning to things they already love, whether that’s activities, interests or hobbies. The most important aspect of private tuition, in my view, is that i develop a relationship with my students which goes beyond the teacher-pupil arrangement, so they can grow in confidence with the knowledge that they have a mentor to support them both academically and in personal development.
