During my tutoring experience of over 5 years, I have found that patience and attentive listening are key skills as a tutor in enabling understanding and instilling a positive work ethic in learners.

I tailor my sessions to fit each student because some students are very verbal while others are visual learners and understanding each child's needs leads to significant academic progress.

My approach to tutoring is aimed at developing a rapport with the students to gain insight into their personal goals and achievements.

This, in turn, helps me to identify any weaknesses as well as build on the child's strengths. My focus is always on the child's development and improvement, constantly striving for success.

I always make sure to listen carefully to my students and encourage them to do a lot of the talking. By so doing, I gauge how they learn and absorb new information.

I love mathematics as a subject and I believe that it is the simplest subject to learn because once you understand the steps required boom! you have your answer, unlike other subjects you have to read and read.

As a mathematics tutor, I give my students lots of assignments after class because I believe that continuous practice makes you perfect. I allow them to ask as many questions as possible, when a student asks questions you already know the weak point. I as well try as much as possible to break it down or use another approach so the students can understand. 

So far so good, all the students I have tutored have made tremendous progress in mathematics, I am always glad when I see my students' results and I see a lot of improvements. Especially when they write the common entrance examination and pass above the cut-off mark, it gives me great joy in seeing my students improve.
