I feel that it is indispensable to try and make the student excited about the subject that we are learning about. Science is fascinating and wonderful, but this can often get lost in the school setting. I hope to create an environment where the student really sees how amazing the science they are studying truly is.
Finally, my goal is to be able to give the student the confidence and the skills necessary to tackle exams in their subjects. I believe that it is important to track a student's progress with exercises and exam-style questions. When a student sees an improvement in their abilities, the confidence-boost they receive really demonstrates how valuable tutoring is.
My approach to tutoring focuses on building the confidence of students, particularly surrounding exam preparation and techniques.
Also, as the world becomes ever more technologically advanced, it is important, even crucial, that students are familiar with working in online formats.
It is vital that pupils gain a comprehensive understanding of how to decipher exams and the way they are marked but is equally important for the student feel confident, calm and capable when under exam conditions.
As an educator I am hugely enthusiastic about all my subjects and believe it is vital to create a supportive, enjoyable and productive learning environment for students.
My initial approach is to develop a solid relationship with students in order to discover their learning techniques, interests, strengths and weaknesses and provide them with specific support and guidance.
The benefit of private tutoring is it allows me to provide tailor made lessons and strategies to students that can directly address any areas of lower confidence and bolster areas of strength and capability. I have taught students at different levels, I have prepared them for different examinations such as: JSCE, BECE, WAEC, NECO, JAMB and IGCSE with excellent records in their various examinations.
I have also been involved in grooming and mentoring students in their mental and academic life. I have the ability to enable students to achieve their academic goal.
