As a result of teaching a large number of students, both in a classroom and one-to-one setting, I am aware that not one method works for every pupil and therefore have a wide range of resources and techniques for teaching different topics. I enjoy using current affairs to hook students into a subject before focusing on key content and theory.
My name is Johnson. I have an Educational Degree in Economics (B.Sc.Ed.) from Tai Solarin University of Education, and a Masters in Educational Evaluation from the same institution.
I have been teaching actively for the past 8 years in a formal school setting, while I also prepare my students for external examinations (local and international examinations).
I basically specialize in teaching Economics and Commerce for Senior Secondary and Tertiary level. I also have a good success rate in teaching Polytechnic and University students advanced Economics to meet up to their daily lectures.
My personal philosophy about teaching is that every student is teachable. All that is needed is to teach each student in his/her peculiar way, and this has always worked for me.
For me, the most important aspects of teaching are flexibility and sensitivity: I assess each student's unique requirements and i tailor my lessons with them accordingly. As I have gained experience of a wide range of students, I have learned to recognize weakness and strength with accuracy.
I use this to hone my students' learning and help them achieve the best possible grades. I place a lot of emphasis on enjoyment of the texts but always with a very focused eye on translating that information into strong written work.
My aim is to provide the support that my students need, in conjunction with their school work, to perform to the best of their ability.
