Excellent Quantitative Reasoning Teacher
Ideally, I want my students to feel that every new topic or idea that they come across is something that they could have invented themselves, given enough time and the correct initial line of thought.
Frequently, I teach my students the reason behind each formula and result that we use in Mathematics rather than just teaching how to apply this to a question.
I even encourage the students to derive these results themselves, with some assistance, where necessary.
Levels Taught: Lower Primary, Upper Primary
My main focus is to promote deep understanding of whatever subject I teach, I am a firm believer in developing fluency by providing opportunities for lots of questions and practice.
Helping a student achieve their full potential is something that gives me great pleasure. I understand from my own history that every individual learns in a unique way, and once I have gotten to know a student, I utilize their ideal method of learning in order to make the best use of our time and to accelerate their understanding of their subject of choice.
This also greatly helps in increasing my students confidence in their own ability, which I have found is an important factor when communicating new information with the goal for long-term retention.
My enthusiasm is only paralleled by my dedication to see my students succeed, and I work together with my students to ensure they are both comfortable, and enjoying the teaching that I provide.

I am highly passionate about the subjects I teach and education in general. I endeavour to help my students feel the same fascination and passion I feel for these subjects as I do. It is also important to me that a student truly understands the concepts they are learning, as I find this is the best way to retain the information and apply it to solving problems. I particularly love that light bulb moment when a student understands a new concept! I take the time to acquaint myself with each student’s learning style and level of ability so I can tailor my teaching style to their needs, and I focus on creating a comfortable atmosphere for my students to ask questions.
