During my experience teaching Basic Science over the years, one thing that has become abundantly clear is that learning is a very individual process. The great thing about tutoring is that it really allows you to tailor each lesson to the student.
I like to place a focus on enjoying the learning process itself and building confidence, allowing my students to develop the skills and the attitude to explore subjects and develop a deeper understanding.
About
My name is Sopekan. I am a Second Class Upper Division graduate of Industrial Chemistry from Olabisi Onabanjo University. I also have a Diploma Degree in Education.
Having five years experience teaching Mathematics and Basic Science, my teaching methods varies with each of my student i work with.
However, in the first stages i believe it is essential to ascertain the immediate needs of my students, and discover where they think my help is most required. Once established, i encourage them to be as honest as possible throughout the teaching process by meeting them on their level, supporting an atmosphere of vocal and written exploration, and above all, inspiring them to learn and be confident in their learning.
I prefer active learning rather than lecturing my students, for example, getting them to teach me what they have just learnt. I believe this helps my student's learning, and i tailor these practices to the needs and abilities of my students.

I believe one-to-one tutoring to be an incredibly important aspect of education. Tutoring offers a great environment in which to learn and for confidence to grow, allowing my student to quickly gain a strong development in the specific subject area. For each of my student, i design the tutorials to best develop their specific learning and concentration ability, with a view towards gaining context and understanding of the subject in preparation for examination. I am an understanding, empathetic and fun tutor who is patient and able to vary the ways in which to learn.
