Math is a part of our everyday life whether we realize it or not, and that is why it is so important to learn about it. And the most beautiful thing about math is that it doesn't have to be this miserable, mind numbing experience for the student. Math can be easy, invigorating, and FUN! I want to show you how.
My name is Abiola, I am a Second Class Upper Division graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Lagos. I am a highly motivated and experienced Tutor with a strong background in providing professional tutoring services to Primary School Students with diverse backgrounds in Mathematics, English and General Studies.
My strong desire to help students achieve their goals has gone a long way in my providing high-quality services.
I have up to seven(7) years in the area of imparting knowledge. Additionally, I possess a positive attitude and a passion for assisting struggling learners.
It is my fundamental belief that making lessons interesting for my students is crucial in effective teaching. This is especially so for mathematics, where a huge amount of learning takes place while students are doing unassisted exercises. Through my encouraging and animated approach to tutorials, I aim to instil a passion in my students, so that they will respond to such exercises with enthusiasm and confidence.
I feel that the needs of every student is unique and that one-on-one tutoring offers the ideal environment to adapt to individual students' learning styles.

For me, the most important part of tutoring is building confidence, wherever the student is starting from. I like to get a good understanding of a student's strengths, and where there is room for improvement, encouraging the strengths whilst addressing the aspects that need working on. Sometimes that can be about going over a topic afresh, or other times just practising a skill, such as solving an equation. Where students are preparing for exams, I include some exam questions, to maintain technique. Lastly, I like to find out what a student finds stimulating about a subject, and give some time to nurturing that interest, as enjoyment makes hard work easier.
