English is the most widely used means of communication throughout the entire world, so a complete understanding of the written and spoken word is, to say the least, extremely useful in the practical world. Knowing the rules of grammar, spelling and punctuation is something that will resonate throughout a students life.

I believe that best results are achieved when students are given the freedom to formulate their own opinions. Asking testing questions is central to my approach in every lesson, and I aim to equip my tutees with an intellectual confidence that will serve them well in tricky examinations and beyond.

About

My name is Agboluaje, I am a Second class upper division graduate of Microbiology from the Obafemi Awolowo University.

I have successfully taught students in Primary School Mathematics, English Language and Science for two (2) years.

I usually begin my teaching with a preliminary assessment to better understand the student's strengths and weaknesses in a given area. This is not a gruelling task, but something fun and engaging, which allows me to better assess how the student thinks or articulates.

I also check that the student has a grasp of the basic concept of the syllabus, particularly if working towards an entrance examination.

I tailor my teaching to the needs of the student which I may adjust in future sessions depending on the student's progress.

I believe the process of learning and widening a student's horizons in a given subject, is paramount to education.

I encourage the students to look beyond their syllabus, to deepen their knowledge of the subjects.

When teaching I keep my students stimulated and engaged, I switch between difficult exercises and more relaxed tasks, which stretches them beyond the syllabus. I often build a reading list to both improve performance and extend the student's knowledge. Every few sessions I will set a mini test, to test the student's understanding of previous lessons, i carry out my evaluation and give necessary corrections.
