An experienced English Language Teacher
I find that patience and attentive listening are key skills as a tutor in enabling understanding and instilling a positive work ethic in young people. I am also alert to the fact that current examination assessment objectives demand specific techniques and demonstrations of skill from candidates and therefore that a coherent understanding of these specific exam techniques can be crucial to securing the highest grade.
Prepclass Tutor Since: May 2015
I always find interesting ways to impart knowledge into my students and occasionally offer guidance and counseling services at no cost, I am very familiar with both the British and Nigerian Curriculum. The flexibility of my teaching method has always delivered the best results as I have a very tailored approach to tutoring and my methods vary according to the pupil in question.
For me, the value of one-to-one tutoring is it’s capacity to cater precisely to the needs and learning style of that particular student and I like to take some time when we begin, to ascertain exactly what teaching methods will be best suited
I welcome the focus on the individual learner that is a central feature of tutoring, and very much enjoy engaging in the lively dialogue and individualized feedback that enables tutees to grow in confidence as learners.
I bring enthusiasm and energy to my tutoring, thanks to my work as a school teacher my approach to tutoring is also informed, where relevant by a sound understanding of the assessment requirements for public examinations
