I believe that it is important to encourage students, when learning, to try to understand the topic not just to learn how to solve it as when they may need to have their knowledge examined, it is more likely they will remember what they understand rather than what they memorized. One of the most effective ways of measuring progress is to practice what has been learnt and I plan to ensure that there is more than enough time for students to practice what they have learnt, e.g. using past papers.
About
I am Feyikemi, a graduate of Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. I'm a patient and calm individual who derives joy engaging students in learning. I'm dedicated, goal driven and i pay attention to details with good listening and communication skills.
My aim is to provide effective and meaningful tutorials through careful and detailed explanation of theory that is reinforced by walk through of practice exercises. In addition to this approach to tutorial structure, I will ensure there is effective use of discussion and analysis between myself and my students in order to successfully understand new concepts or just revise learnt material effectively. I will also measure the progress of students by noting what is taught and learnt in each lesson and focusing on which methods of teaching are effective for them so that I can teach them in a way that they best respond to. I look forward to passing my enthusiasm to my students.
