My name is Ikema. I am a young, articulate and vast graduate of Chemistry Education from the University of Lagos, and I am also a certified NCE graduate of Integrated Science/Chemistry from the Federal College of Education, Lagos.

With over seven years teaching experience in Mathematics, English language, Chemistry and Biology to both Primary and Secondary School students, I discovered that one of the most important elements in successful learning is full engagement with a subject.

I always take time to get to know what my students enjoys and finds interesting.

I also know from experience that when you enjoy something and feel interested in it, the work you put in it is both less arduous and more satisfying, and you are far more likely to excel.

I tailor my sessions to fit my student's learning styles, as this is the surest way that they will learn and make progress. For example, where some students will be very verbal, others will think more visually, and want to map things on the page.

I always keep any texts being studied close at hand, so that all discussions and exercises relate directly to the subjects, and my students are always relating general learning to their specific set texts, thereby gaining an intimate knowledge of the subject.

I have often found that a lack of confidence is what holds students back, so I always support and encourage my students in trusting their own ideas and interpretations, enjoying what they are studying, and having high expectations of themselves.
