I have helped improve the musical skills of clients from age eight to seventy-two. My approach is patient and low-key; I find that motivation comes best from love of the material, rather than pep talks, browbeating or guilt. Many of my clients have told me that they appreciate my individualized approach, building on strengths to bolster weaknesses.

About

My name is Maxwell, I am a graduate of Marine Engineering from the Certified Institute of Shipping of Nigeria. I also studied music from the Music Society of Nigeria and I am also a  Music coordinator in my church.

I have always loved teaching Music, and it’s always incredibly rewarding experience seeing my students progress and achieve the results they were hoping for. What distinguishes me as a Music tutor is an ability to understand the student's specific needs, both personal and academic, and tailor my teaching methods to fulfill each student's academic potential and individual goals.

My personal experiences have convinced me that often the best results are not only a question of investing a certain amount of work in preparation, but also, as importantly, of building confidence and a good rapport between student and teacher.

My teaching style balances a thorough knowledge of results-driven exam techniques and an intellectual curiosity which flows beyond the immediate perimeter of the syllabus - in short, I aspire to make work feel like fun whilst fulfilling all the requirements of the curriculum.

My method of teaching varies with each student I work with. However, in the first stages I believe it is essential to ascertain the immediate needs of the student, and discover where they think my help is most required. Once established, I encourage them to be as honest as possible throughout the teaching process by meeting them on their level, supporting an atmosphere of vocal and written exploration, and above all, inspiring them to learn and be confident in their learning.
