About

My name is Noah, I have over 10 years professional experience teaching English Language and other related subjects. I am proficient with both the Nigerian and British curriculum of education.  I specialize in helping students prepare effectively for pivotal local and international examinations in the English language, such as WASSCE, GCE and NECO; as well as IGCSE, IELTS, TOEFL & SAT, foreign external examinations for study abroad programs, with prime emphasis on grammar, vocabulary and phonology–the three most critical genres of the language.  I  also teach the various aspects of the English Language for SSS 1-3 (Year 9-11) students where they performed exceptionally well in the subject area having familiarized them with the structure and mechanical requirements for constructing grammatically correct sentences in writing and speech.  I adopt varied teaching methodology and procedures to stimulate the desired learning interest for examination success.

I continually engage my students to actively participate in activities/exercises to integrate language skills learnt into practice in writing and expression. IELTS: I am an experienced IELTS instructor with a personalized approach and enthusiastic about sharing and building knowledge capacity: My teaching methodology is focused at improving the students general English Language ability. I make them familiar with the IELTS test format, the different question types in the different parts of the examination through guided rigorous specimen test paper practice - So that they can quickly grasp what they need to know. I teach to improve the listening, reading & writing skills that are being tested, and their knowledge of technical vocabulary, plus how to structure suitable answers to the different possible question types. I encourage them to: - Be familiar with the structures and requirements of the system as part of their effort to achieve success. - Access and use the British Council online IELTS resources for self development. - Get advice from other candidates and find out about British Council courses. - Despite students' accent, I ensure that they can easily understand clarity of pronunciation as an essential part of communication in the language. - To follow written instructions, spot letter sequences, crack letter and number-based codes; and affect their listening, reading, speaking, writing and ultimately intelligence to develop their cognitive reasoning skills for problem solving. - To answer the who-what-why questions, make predictions, classify things as belonging to specific categories, identify similarities and differences between objects and retell stories in sequence. - To understand the process of verbal reasoning as involving analysis, synthesis and evaluation of concepts to affect their background knowledge, attitudes and beliefs. Noah also teaches: Articulatory Phonetics &, Verbal Reasoning & Literature In English.  Levels Taught: Jss, Sss and Adults Phonetics  Experienced at teaching articulatory phonetics. I help students identify the process of mastering any English Language concept and repeat same in their own free practice to reinforce the necessary steps, so it becomes a second nature I teach students to: - Become familiar with the phonemes or sound systems of the English Language, their representation, pronunciations (looking at the different mouth, lips and tongue movements), and how sounds are perceived by a first language listener.  - To make a clear distinction between phonetics and phonology and help them solve problems associated with the pronunciation of certain sounds. - To create the best impression, particularly at a more advanced level, e.g. for job interviews and to build up the relationship between pronunciation and writing. My lessons will delve into the articulatory, acoustic and auditory perceptions of the language; look at the notation of segments, supra-segmental, phonemics, intonation patterns, stress, syllables and the various use and dis-use of sounds. Verbal Reasoning  I am an experienced verbal reasoning tutor.  I teach students: - To follow written instructions, spot letter sequences, crack letter and number-based codes; and affect their listening, reading, speaking, writing and ultimately intelligence to develop their cognitive reasoning skills for problem solving.
