My name is Moses, I am a graduate of Chemical Engineering from the University of Ilorin. I have been teaching Secondary School Students and preparing them for examinations in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

I know that students succeed when their learning goals are not abstract or dictated by someone else but are personally meaningful. That is why I take time to really get to know my students so that I can put their learning into this context.

I also believe that students learn best when they can see the real-world application of their knowledge and skills and when they are encouraged to aspire to the highest standards. For this reason, my education and professional background are a huge asset to me as a tutor. As an experienced classroom teacher, I have a thorough understanding of the assessment requirements for public examinations, and I know exactly what it takes to succeed.

I encourage my students to be goal-oriented and maintain enthusiasm and motivation by establishing clear attainable milestones, which strike a balance between challenging them and also developing confidence. Most importantly, however, I think it is essential that the students enjoy their sessions and that the subject matter is made relevant and relatable.

I consider myself to be very positive, patient and approachable and I strive to cultivate a safe environment in which students feel comfortable to express their difficulties and explore diverse methods to enhance learning and achieve their desired aims.

In my experience, I have found that learning is best achieved in a fun atmosphere. I strive to make my lessons fun and accessible as well as relevant to the career aspirations of each tutee so that they can engage with the subject on a personal level. A key to tutoring is setting goals, achieving that goal and then moving on. I will come to each session with a set of objectives to meet so that the tutee can physically see the progress they are making, which will in turn provide them with the confidence they need to tackle the areas they find more challenging. A great deal of tutoring is giving students the confidence to tackle problems that they find daunting, generally in an area or subject that they dislike as a consequence of finding it difficult. In my sessions, I create a supportive atmosphere where getting a question wrong is part and parcel of the learning process and the student doesn't feel foolish for making errors but uses them constructively as a learning aid.
