Experienced Mathematics Tutor
It is my fundamental belief that making lessons interesting for my students is crucial in effective teaching.
This is especially so for Mathematics, where a huge amount of learning takes place while students are doing unassisted exercises.
Through my encouraging and animated approach to tutorials, i aim to instill a passion in my students, so that they will respond to such exercises with enthusiasm and confidence.
I feel that the needs of every student are unique.

My name is Okafor. I am a graduate of Computer Science from Babcock University.
My approach varies hugely depending on the student i am tutoring.
However i think something which unifies it across the range of ages and abilities is that i always try to break down what seem like huge, daunting subjects or assignments into smaller, manageable, non-scary, fun tasks.
Having over 2 years experienced in teaching Computer Science and Mathematics it enables me work closely with each student, to determine the ways in which they learn best, their interests, strengths and weaknesses, and feed this back into my tutoring methods, creating a tailor-made learning experience.
My methods are of course, also informed by a thorough understanding of assessment requirements and criteria both for school entrance examinations and public examinations.
I believe that a positive and confident attitude towards the academic subject being studied can be hugely beneficial in terms of results, and i try to engender this by providing a supportive yet challenging relationship and environment for study.
I enjoy tutoring each of the subjects i teach, and hope that i can transmit my enthusiasm and energy to my students.

I aim to pass on to my students, the benefits of organisation. Not just in the practical sense of effective note taking and filing but also in relation to a students ability to organize their own thoughts. A well organised mind is much more adept at problem solving, because it grants students the ability to take a step back and see the bigger picture. I help my students to do this by talking often and in depth with them about problem solving in general and how we can apply the same techniques across a huge range of subjects and questions. It has often been said that education is less about learning facts by rote and more about training yourself to think about the world in a different (and hopefully more useful) way.
