My name is Okon. I am a graduate of Mass Communication from Olabisi Onabanjo University.

My six years experience teaching English Grammar and Elementary Mathematics, has personalized my approach to private tutoring. My aim is to develop active rapport with my students, in order to gain an insight into their personal goals and achievements.This in turn, helps me to identify any weaknesses as well as build on my student's strengths.

I hope to guide my students towards impending examinations or entrance tests by catering sessions to their particular needs and interest, while keeping sessions lively and fun.

I want to make my students feel as comfortable as possible, because that is when they will produce the best work.

Most of the time, the ability is there, so my job is to create self-assurance. I help my students to shape and structure their ideas, packaging them in an engaging way that will also get the marks.

I often ask my student to teach a topic back to me to show their understanding.

My goal is to give my students a set of tools to call upon in the examination, rather than directly spoon-feeding them answers. With the right tuition, any student can think efficiently, conveying an interesting and well-structured response to the question at hand.

I think reading is absolutely vital to improving spelling, vocabulary and grammar. I am a huge reader and always delighted to recommend titles to my students, at every level.
