Supportive Mathematics Tutor

Over the years of teaching Mathematics, I have created lesson plans that are broken down into sections that enables students to go over their structured notes during personal time, allowing for students to get ahead. I believe that tutors should have extremely organized and structured lesson plans to save time for the student, as well as instill organization. While this is the way I learn, this method can be adjusted to any subject and for the student's individual needs. My goal with becoming a tutor is to directly benefit those who are struggling with Mathematics. I believe that together, we can begin to make maths add up for everyone, no matter one's age, status, and education.

My name is Olabimpe, I am a graduate of Biology from the Federal University of Technology Akure.

For two (2) years now, I have successfully taught Primary School students Mathematics, Basic Sciences, and Secondary School Students Biology.

I am well acquainted with the frustration and anxiety that can sometimes come along with needing extra support.

The personal relationship with my students is something I value greatly and spend some time in the first lesson establishing areas of common interest, as well as trying to get to know what interests them and what particular hurdles they face. It is this relationship that is vital to ensuring that I am able to tailor my lessons according to a specific child's abilities and interests.

I am extremely passionate about the subjects I teach and try to extend this passion and enthusiasm to my students to help them gain the confidence they want and need to tackle their exams successfully. I hope to challenge and stimulate them in a way that gets them to think critically about the subject and thereby learn transferrable skills that are not merely limited to an exam or test, but which will also be applicable in other areas of their lives.

I am someone who thinks and writes best with pen and paper. The hands-on approach to learning is one of the most effective ways to tackle a subject and to really get to grips with it. That being said, my lessons also profit greatly from the various multimedia resources that technology allows us to access, which can bring some subjects to life or allow others to be viewed from a new or unique perspective.
