Taking a collaborative approach, I will steer the lessons towards whatever my students musical goals are, while moving at whatever pace he or she need. Progress is guaranteed as long as my students have patience with themselves.

I will create and print out/copy learning resources for them (theory, tabs, lead sheets, etc.), and I will also learn songs they want to be taught during my free time, so no chunk of your lesson is wasted!

About

My name is Olufemi, I am a music instructor and also a multi-instrumentalist, i play the Piano, guitar, keyboard, violin, recorder and harmonica. I am the assistant music director of ECCG Lagos. I am a recording music artiste and also one of the winners of questionable music challenge hosted in Lagos by Nigeria veteran singer "Segun Obe".

I studied computer engineering in Olabisi Onabanjo University, and i am currently teaching Music in schools both in Elementary and Secondary level. I have successfully handled students of different nature musically due to my wealth of experience.

Music is a cumulative art form: what you learn from the song you are writing or learning is what you bring to the next song you write and learn.

My motto and key phrase is 'The art of writing is re-writing.' I give honest, clear and concise evaluations.

I am by nature a cheerleader and encouraging. I take more time in helping my students learn and become a great songwriter.

My years of experience give me an objective point of view toward the craft and helping students write their songs. I very much enjoy working with writers of all levels. And most important, my love for the process is what i share with my students.

I have extensive training as a pianist and vocalist, including college coursework in ear training and sight singing. I have had successful experience in teaching ear training and intervals to students, and have used number systems for sight singing and ear training purposes. I have helped people who cannot sing on key learn to match pitch. It's often not the ear, but breath and vocal coordination that needs development!
