Many students tend to see maths as a difficult and boring subject. That is why when I am teaching i make an effort to present maths as something that can actually be fun. I ensure that my students are at least able to enjoy math enough that they don't hate it and can see how they can use it in life.

Students struggle with higher levels of math because they don't remember what they learned before because they took the ‘cram for the test' approach, and then they just brain dumped it,". That is why I always ensure that my students have a solid Mathematics foundation.

About

My name is Oluwaseun, I am a graduate of Metalurgical and Materials Engineering.

I have been teaching Secondary School Students Mathematics and Further Mathematics for over three (3) years now. I have prepared students for WAEC and Jamb who passed with flying colours.

Students perform best when they feel as confident as possible. This inspires my teaching style, which is kind and respectful but rigorous and thorough. I strive to build a trusting and respectful relationship between me and my students, as this is conducive to an enthusiastic and successful learning atmosphere.

l help my students simplify maths and further maths problems first down to the core concept before attempting them because this is how things work in the real world. Everything is about simplifying complex problems.

I believe that if a student truly understands the basic principles and why something is important, they have a much higher chance of getting close to the solution.

Maths especially can be a hugely daunting subject to tackle, because reading a Maths question that you don’t understand can be like trying to read a foreign language that you can’t speak. However by teaching students to break problems down into smaller chunks, they are able to turn a daunting mountain of a question into a series of manageable mole hill.

For each session, i set out objectives to meet so that the students can keep track of their progress, which will in turn provide them with the confidence they need to tackle the areas they find more challenging. A great deal of tutoring is giving students the confidence to tackle problems that they find daunting, generally in an area that they dislike as a consequence of finding it difficult. In my sessions, I create a supportive atmosphere where getting a question wrong is part of the learning process and the student doesn't feel foolish for making errors but uses them constructively as a learning aid.
