About

My name is Opeyemi, a graduate of Home Science and Nutrition with years of productive teaching experience.

My main focus is to promote deep understanding of whatever subject I teach, I am a firm believer in developing fluency by providing opportunities for lots of questions and practice.

Helping a student achieve their full potential is something that gives me great pleasure. I understand from my own history that every individual learns in a unique way, and once I have gotten to know a student, I utilize their ideal method of learning in order to make the best use of our time and to accelerate their understanding of their subject of choice.

This also greatly helps in increasing my students confidence in their own ability, which I have found is an important factor when communicating new information with the goal for long-term retention.

My enthusiasm is only paralleled by my dedication to see my students succeed, and I work together with my students to ensure they are both comfortable, and as well enjoying the tutoring that I provide.

I am highly passionate about the subjects I teach and education in general. I endeavour to help my students feel the same fascination and passion I feel for these subjects as I do. It is also important to me that a student truly understands the concepts they are learning, as I find this is the best way to retain the information and apply it to solving problems. I particularly love that light bulb moment when a student understands a new concept! I take the time to acquaint myself with each student’s learning style and level of ability so I can tailor my teaching style to their needs, and I focus on creating a comfortable atmosphere for my students to ask questions.
