Result Oriented Mathematics Tutor

When teaching Mathematics, i identify any problem areas the student is experiencing with the school or university syllabus, and i address these appropriately, using a range of techniques. I seek to make learning fun, and often find that this can be achieved by showing how and why a topic is meaningful. I encourage students to participate fully in the planning of learning goals and in assessing the learning outcomes.

My name is Samson, I am a Master's degree holder of Mathematics from Olabisi Onabanjo University.

For over three (3) years, I have not only taught Junior and Senior Secondary Students Mathematics, I have also lectured in a Polytechnic as a Mathematics Lecturer.

The most important part of my teaching is building a solid relationship with the students, such that I can work out exactly what they need from the lessons, and how best to deliver it to them. My detailed knowledge in mathematics, when combined with the relationship I build with the students, allows me to go into details beyond the syllabus if I can tell that the student is wanting more or needs to be pushed. But, I can also recognise when a student is struggling with a particular concept and then approach it from a new angle to help their understanding.

My attention to structured progress provides struggling students with the tools and attitude to help lift their grades, and assists well-performing students discover that extra flair that can distinguish their work at the highest level.

I come prepared to each mathematics session with a set of objectives to meet so that the students can physically see the progress they are making, which will in turn provide them with the confidence they need to tackle the areas they find more challenging. A great deal of tutoring is giving students the confidence to tackle problems that they find daunting, generally in an area that they dislike as a consequence of finding it difficult. In my sessions, I create a supportive atmosphere where getting a question wrong is part and parcel of the learning process and the student doesn't feel foolish for making errors but uses them constructively as a learning aid. I Carry out assessments, give out class work and then assignment to keep them occupied before the next class.
