About

My name is Stella, I am a second class upper division graduate of Mass Communication from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University.

I have been teaching Junior Secondary School students English Language for two (2) years now. During this time, I have successfully prepared my students not just for internal examinations but for external examinations like the Junior WAEC.

I am very conversant with the British Nigerian Curriculum.

I have a tutoring approach which is aimed at developing a rapport with the students in order to gain an insight into their personal goals and achievements. This, in turn, helps me to identify any weaknesses as well as build on the child's strengths. My focus is always on the child's development and improvement, constantly striving for success.

I always listen carefully to my students and encourage them to do a lot of the talking. By so doing, I gauge how they learn and absorb new information.

I tailor my sessions to fit each student because some students are very Verbal while others are Visual learners. Understanding each child leads to significant academic progress.

As an English language teacher, the first role i play is that of the classroom manager because good organization is a key factor in planning the syllabus. I also act as a resource by helping the students if necessary. To increase the effectiveness of learning, i sometimes act with the students on the same level as a participant. Thereby gaining an insight to the way students develop. I then analyze the way of teaching, observe what is going on in the classroom and investigate the ways students learn, with the aim to either maintain or modify my method of teaching.
