Passionate Biology Tutor
As a Biology tutor, I tailor my knowledge and input to each individual student based on their needs. I feel strongly that an optimistic, 'you can do it' approach - alongside eliminating a student’s fear of particular topics in Biology is very essential.
In the initial meeting with the student, I'll find out the student's weaknesses, strengths, general interests and preferred learning style. If the aim is examination preparation, I will get the student to complete selected past year paper questions. This helps me find out what areas the student needs support with and also how I could present material in a way that will engage him/her. We will then agree a plan of action together. In on going sessions, I will also try to integrate and model key study skills such as mind mapping, taking concise notes and memory tricks.
About
My name is Ogbebor. I am a Biochemistry graduate of Lagos State University. I am also currently undergoing my Master's degree program in Biochemistry at the Lagos State University.
I am an intuitive, hardworking and responsible teacher who has successfully been teaching all Secondary School levels for the past three (3) years now and have prepared them for internal and external examinations including, IGCSE, O-levels, Jamb and A-Levels.
In my experience teaching and tutoring over the years, one thing that has become abundantly clear is that learning is a very individual process. The great thing about tutoring is that it really allows you to tailor each lesson to the student. I like to place a focus on enjoying the learning process itself and building confidence. Which I have found is as important a factor as any when communicating new information with the goal for long term retention.
Helping my students untap their full potentials is something that gives me great pleasure. I utilise the ideal method of learning in order to make the best use of our time and to accelerate their understanding.
