A Passionate Senior Secondary School English Tutor with 6 years Experience and Outstanding A's and B's ex-students.

My experience in teaching for the past 6 years has been nothing short of amazing. There have been times of challenges, of course, but the whole experience is something I would love to keep engaging in. Of the numerous things I have learned and achieved over the years, I would love to just point out three aspects that have impacted me the most and have made me grow better in the profession. 

The first thing that impressed upon me was the fact that I realized that I have to make learning more interesting for my students if not they will not get the point. I worked hard to achieve this in just the first term of teaching in a particular school. I used storytelling methods in teaching sometimes, I painted mental pictures of my topics and used symbolic objects to drive home the point of my explanations at other times. These made my students fall in love with English Language and Literature-in-English. Their interests were rekindled and we all won at the end when the results of their Waec and Jamb came in.

Another thing that has been revealed as my strength over the years in teaching the English Language is the proven ability to help low-performing students get motivated and move up in their performances. For instance, I once helped an SS2 student whose performance in the English Language was what some would term 'woeful' to rise up to the demands of the subject and do exploits. We did a lot of things to achieve this. Through simple methods of explanation and the right words of motivation and encouragement, she moved from a student who could not spell properly to a 'B2' student in the English Language when she did her WAEC.

 Finally, I have been a worthy mentor and counselor to my students through my lifestyle. I have provided leadership to all my students both past and present. My past students still call to thank me for being such a strong force of leadership and direction at that point in their lives.

I am a graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Benin and currently studying for my PGDE at the National Open University of Nigeria.

I have 6 years of experience teaching English Language and Literature in English. My students have always come top in their grades in any examination I prepared them for. The lowest grade I celebrated with my students in the just concluded WAEC was 'B3' and my students turned out with outstanding scores in the JAMB examination. I produced a student that scored as high as 327 in the recent JAMB. This has always been the norm for me all the years I have been teaching.

I have always been instrumental in teaching and preparing students for external examinations. I am a skillful motivator, communicator, and public speaking coach. I am also proficient with the use of software packages such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
