Why take SAT
Some colleges require or recommend that you take SAT Subject Tests, especially if you’re applying to take specific courses or programs The purpose of the SAT is to measure a high school student's readiness for college, and provide colleges with one common data point that can be used to compare all applicants. College admissions officers will review standardized test scores alongside your high school GPA, the classes you took in high school, letters of recommendation from teachers or mentors, extracurricular activities, admissions interviews, and personal essays. How important SAT scores are in the college application process varies from school to school.
Overall, the higher you score on the SAT and/or ACT, the more options for attending and paying for college will be available to you.

How to register for the SAT 2020?

Deadlines for SAT registration is approximately 5 weeks before each test date. One can register for the SAT exam online or through the mail. Registering online is considered as the most convenient and fastest way to apply for the SAT test. Aspirants below 13 years of age have to register through the mail. Also, while registering candidates can also choose their preferred SAT 2020 exam date and centres. Steps for SAT Registration 2020 process:
- Make sure to check with the college you are applying whether you need to give the SAT 2020 exam with an essay or not, then proceed accordingly.
- Visit the SAT’s official website and fill in your personal details and upload the photograph.

How many times can I take the SAT Exam and what is SAT test dates?

The candidates can take the SAT exam as many times as they want. The SAT is conducted six times a year (January, May, June, October, November, and December). However, it also depends on the program/college you are applying to. If the college requires you to submit your highest SAT scores then you can take the test as many times as you want and send your highest scores to the college, they will not be able to your any other SAT score. Whereas if the college requires you to send all your score reports, then it is recommended that you should not give it more than three times.
What if I don’t know which colleges I’m going to apply to?

You should still consider taking Subject Tests in case you decide on colleges or programs that do require or recommend them. You don’t want to have to try to schedule tests at the last minute. And remember, even colleges that don’t require or recommend Subject Tests may consider them as part of your application.
How Important Are SAT Scores?

The weight placed on SAT scores varies from school to school. Colleges and universities also consider high school grade point average and academic transcript, letters of recommendation, interviews, and personal essays when deciding on admissions. In addition, virtually all U.S. colleges and universities will accept ACT scores in lieu of SAT scores. For more specific information about the weight of your scores, contact the admissions offices of the schools to which you will apply.
